Route 15 Between Morgan Creek Road and Presho

Route 15 is a major north-south route for long distance travel through central Pennsylvania and New York. The demands placed on the existing two-lane roadway exceed its capabilities.

Currently the remaining sections of Route 15 between Williamsport, PA, and Corning, NY, are four-lane expressways, or under construction with plans to complete a four-lane expressway.

Shumaker Consulting, Engineering & Land Surveying, P.C. (SCE) is providing provide final design for the construction of a five mile section of limited access expressway.

The project is located adjacent to the existing Route 15, beginning approximately one mile north of the PA/NY state line and extending to the Presho Interchange.  The project also includes connecting the existing Route 15 to the local road system and providing design enhancements to Morgan Creek. 

SCE is providing miscellaneous survey and mapping, right of way mapping, asbestos assessment, detailed final design, and preparation of the contract documents.

Construction Support Service may be added by supplemental agreement. Right of way acquisition will be required.  The estimated construction cost is $64.9M ($54.1M highway, $10.8M structures). 

SUNY Plattsburgh MacDonough Hall Renovations, City of Plattsburgh, New York
This project at SUNY Plattsburgh addressed reconstruction of an existing dormitory facility to provide new and renovated living space for student residents on campus.

The scope of the project included removal of existing asbestos and complete rehabilitation of mechanical, plumbing, sprinkler, and electrical systems. Existing areas were renovated to promote code compliance and compliance with Executive Order 111.

Shumaker Consulting Engineering & Land Surveying, P.C. (SCE) was retained to perform survey/mapping services. Mapping limits encompassed MacDonough Hall and extended to the east and south fence of the Memorial Fitness Center, as well as an additional 1,000 L.F. of Rugar Avenue to Saranac Hall.
